Executive Director
Heath Chitwood, a Licensed Alcohol and Drug Abuse Counselor, has been with Cumberland Heights since 1994, and with Still Waters specifically since it opened in 2009. With 30 plus years of sobriety, Heath is he is an excellent agent of change and has a documented track record of designing and running programs that get people into recovery and help keep them sober. With an enthusiastic and genuinely friendly attitude, Heath radiates a sincere passion for delivering hope and recovery to individuals and families suffering from alcohol and drug addiction.
Clinical Director, Women's Program
Alexis Hatler, a Certified Peer and Recovery Specialist has been with Cumberland Heights since 2018, and with Still Waters since 2019. Alexis has gone through her own battles with substance use disorder, and is honored to use her experience, strength and hope to help others suffering. Alexis says being a part of Still Waters means being a part of a family.
Clinical Director, Men's Program
Ed Thompson, a Certified Peer and Recovery Specialist, has been with Still Waters since 2013. He’s proud to share his own experience finding recovery in 1992. Ed is passionate about helping others struggling and showing them how wonderful life can be free from substances. Seeing Still Waters alumni find recovery and watching them pass along that gift to others is the most rewarding part of Ed’s career.
Recovery Coach
Sean Harrell, our Still Waters Recovery Coach has been in the field of substance abuse treatment since 2003, beginning his career as a psychiatric nurse in California before transferring his skill set into counseling and coaching. Sean is passionate about helping individuals and their families uncover, discover, and ultimately recover from active addiction.
Chef
Nicholas Branstetter, our Head Chef, joined the Still Waters staff in 2020. He has worked in the food industry since the early 2000s, having graduated from the Culinary Institute in Birmingham, Alabama. As a Still Waters alum, Nicholas is thrilled to be working at the place that gave him hope and tools for a new way to live. He says the most rewarding part of his job is watching the light come on in a patient’s eyes.
