Here’s What We Do Each Day

You’ll begin each day with a 7:00 a.m. morning meditation group, followed by a home-cooked breakfast.
You’ll then attend two 2-hour group sessions devoted to 12-Step and big book-study assignments and 12-step work presentation. Another homemade lunch will split your morning and afternoon sessions. You’ll then enjoy another homemade meal for dinner, then either travel via community van with other residents to a local area 12-Step meeting or participate in another activity similar to those that take place on Cumberland Heights’ main campus. The day concludes with an accountability group to support the Alcoholics Anonymous philosophy of “when we retire at night we constructively review our day…”

Morning Meditation Group

All residents participate in reading page 86 from the AA Big Book and morning devotionals (i.e. Daily Reflections, Just for Today, 24 Hours a Day) then set goals for the day

7:45 AM

Breakfast

Home-cooked hot breakfast prepared by our volunteer work program

9:00AM – 11:00AM

Step Presentation and Discussion Group

Counselor lead discussion on individual resident’s step work and all residents required to participate and provide feedback

11:00AM – 12:00PM

Personal Time

Residents are required to be self-directed in their studies and answering questions from our step workbooks and balance his recovery efforts to his desire to partake of the recreational activities

12:00PM

Lunch

Home-cooked meal prepared by our full-time professional chef

1:00PM – 4:00Pm

Step Presentations; 12&12 Group; AA Speaker Meeting; NA Book Study…etc.

Residents present their step work with a counselor lead discussion to learn about recovery issues such as the disease concept, recovery and relapse. Still Waters emphasizes the spiritual principles associated with each step

4:00PM – 5:00PM

Personal Time

A suitable resident has a high level of internal motivation for recovery and is able to be community and program compliant. Residents are required to be self-directed in their studies and answering questions from our step workbooks and balance his recovery efforts to his desire to partake of the recreational activities

5:00PM

Dinner

Home-cooked meal prepared by our full-time professional chef

6:00PM – 8:00PM

In House Group Meeting or Outside AA/NA Meeting

Following a home cooked dinner, the community travels to a local area 12 step community meeting or 12 step activity

9:00PM

Accountability Group

Everyday concludes with our “Accountability Group” where we read and discuss page 86 of Alcoholics Anonymous which suggests “when we retire at night we constructively review our day…”
